Diegem is once again the battleground for the renewed Turbo Cross

On Monday, December 30, a true classic is on the schedule for the Telenet Superprestige. Last year, the evening cyclocross in Diegem was not just the playground of Van der Poel and Pieterse—the gap between the two elite races was filled with the inaugural edition of the Turbo Cross. This year, many familiar faces are preparing for a new Turbo Cross. Brothers Average Rob and Arno The Kid are giving the spectacle a fresh twist.

Twice as many racers, extra obstacles, and a relay concept. A year after the successful first edition, participants face a new challenge in Diegem. In relay form, 20 men and 20 women will each complete a lap in pairs. Where last year Sven Vanthourenhout claimed victory, there will now be two winners. The new obstacles remain a secret for now, though Average Rob promises “more chaos and more turbo.”

It’s a relay race, and the lineup is full of stars. World snooker champion Luca Brecel will take to the course alongside presenter Linde Merckpoel. Elodie Gabias, Jonathan Borlée, Julie Vermeire, and Timon Verbeeck are also joining the challenge. Of course, the two brothers will briefly set aside their roles as organizers to tackle the course themselves. Twenty mixed celebrity duos will compete for the trophy. Who will join the winners of the Elite Women’s and Elite Men’s races on the top podium? Find out on Monday, December 30, at 19:30.
