Inge Van der Heijden takes first Superprestige victory

The final round of the Telenet Superprestige took place in Middelkerke. Among the women, Lucinda Brand (Baloise Glowi Lions) was already assured of the overall victory after Ceylin Alvarado (Alpecin-Deceuninck) ended her season early.
The race promised to be a thrilling finale but lost some tension due to Alvarado's absence. Brand only had to finish to secure the overall win.
However, it didn't go smoothly. Brand crashed in the first corner and quickly found herself more than 20 seconds behind. At the front, Inge Van der Heijden (Crelan-Corendon) and Sara Casasola (Crelan-Corendon) seized their chance.
Brand launched an impressive comeback and overtook Casasola in the final lap. However, Van der Heijden remained out of reach and claimed her first victory in a classification race.
Brand had to settle for second place but secured the Superprestige title. Sanne Cant (Crelan-Corendon), competing in her final Superprestige race, finished fourth.
